Join us for a special tour, fireside chat and networking session at Hoame, Toronto’s stunning new meditation and wellness studio.

After several full days of intensive, cutting-edge social media programming and non-stop social networking, give your twitter fingers – and your mind – a much-needed break. We’ll chat with two of Toronto’s leading registered psychotherapists about the impact Social Media has on our brains and our health. We will also be discussing science-based strategies that marketers, media and creative professionals can utilize to mitigate the effects.

Hoame is Toronto’s new one-stop destination for enhanced mind and body services. Hoame offers a curated selection of seated meditation, mindful movement, and higher intensity meditative classes. About Carolyn Plater | MSW, RSW Co-Founder Hoame 

Carolyn Plater graduated with an Honours BA. in Psychology from York University. She received her Addiction Education Diploma from McMaster University and her Masters of Social Work degree from the University of Toronto, which included a joint collaborative program in Addiction Studies. She possesses additional certifications in Smoking Cessation Interventions, Concurrent Disorders, and Opioid Dependence from The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health. She also holds certificates in Solution Focused Counselling, Trauma counselling, and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention. As a compliment to her strong clinical education, Carolyn has incorporated additional evidence-based holistic certificates to further round out her training. Carolyn is a certified trauma-informed yoga instructor and provides yoga training and yoga therapy in both private and group sessions. She holds a certificate from the University of Toronto in Applied Mindfulness Meditation and also has a certificate in Plant-Based Nutrition from Cornell University.

About Stephanie Kersta | MSc, RP,  Co-Founder Hoame 

Stephanie Kersta holds an Honors Bachelor of Science with a specialty in Psychology, and a Masters of Science in Psychology. Additionally, she holds a number of certifications, including a post-graduate certificate in Addictions and Mental Health Counselling, and certificates in Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Psychometric Assessments. As a compliment to her strong clinical education, Stephanie has incorporated additional evidence-based holistic certificates to further round out her training. She is a certified in Applied Mindfulness Meditation, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy, Mindful Eating, and holds a certificate in Plant-Based Nutrition from Cornell University. Stephanie holds teaching positions at both McMaster University and Durham College in their Addiction and Mental Health programs and is a consultant trainer for the Canadian Training Institute.

About Cassidy Thedorf

Cassidy learned about meditation during her travels to India, Bali, Thailand and other places with deep roots in the practice. Her hope is that you’ll find her classes to be intention-driven, accessible, and a reminder of the stillness that lives within you – all while being led by unwavering compassion.

About Michelle Pound

Michelle is a certified Health Coach from the Institute of Integrated Nutrition. She’s also a graduate of the world-renowned Ann Wigmore Natural Health Institute where she learned how to heal and replenish the body using natural practices.

Throughout Michelle’s healing journey, meditation became an integral part of her success.  Knowing the importance of a daily meditation and yoga practice, she completed my yoga teacher training at 889.

After being introduced to the incredible healing effects of Reiki, Michelle was inspired to become a Reiki practitioner. This powerful form of energy healing shifts stagnant energy and promotes healing on a deep level.


About Elle Bulger

Elle is the Director of Client Success of Pinch Social (the small team that produces Social Media Week Toronto). At age 15, Elle founded her own jewelry business, Elysia Designs, which she operated and grew across Canada for 8 years. After completing her business degree (HBA) from the Ivey Business School at Western, Elle gained valuable skills through working at the head office of some of Toronto’s top apparel companies including product design at Joe Fresh and marketing at Canada Goose and McGregor Socks. Elle works on a number of side projects including social media consulting for public figure, Bruce Croxon, and mental health advocacy on behalf of the Canadian Mental Health Association.
